Hello, and thanks for Debian.

Years ago I made an iRiver IFP-590T work for a friend of mine (using
sid). It is a music player accessed by USB but it's not using USB Mass
Storage
firmware. It uses "managed" firmware which allows a little more
functionality and has a driver.

She stopped using it it for some time and recently told she's tried
again
and it no longer works. I checked and saw that it her user (in plugdev
group) did not have permissions for the device, but root had.

I found some lines in /etc/udev/rules.d/91-permissions.rules assigning
group plugdev for iRiver devices, but
they seemed to be outdated. I added some other lines and now it works.

I'm not sure I know what I'm doing but it works for us now, so I leave
it here and inform the maintainers in case they want to consider to add
the lines or fixing it somehow else.

Old lines were

 SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device",  GROUP="plugdev", \
        ATTRS{idVendor}=="4102", ATTRS{idProduct}=="10[01][135789]"

and I added
SUBSYSTEM=="usb_device",        GROUP="plugdev", \
        ATTRS{idVendor}=="4102", ATTRS{idProduct}=="10[01][135789]"
