Package: gstreamer0.10-alsa Version: 0.10.19-2 Severity: important Tags: patch
The alsamixer plugin from GStreamer has an erratic behaviour. When trying to adjust the volume level it often changes its value randomly, making it almost unusable. This can be reproduced with the GNOME Panel's volume slider, but the underlying problem seems to be in GStreamer. This bug has been reported upstream and is caused by a race condition: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478512 The patch included in comment #38 fixes the problem for me (tested against 0.10.19-2): http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=127882&action=view -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.27.8 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=pt_PT, LC_CTYPE=pt_PT (charmap=ISO-8859-15) (ignored: LC_ALL set to pt...@euro) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gstreamer0.10-alsa depends on: ii libasound2 1.0.16-2 ALSA library ii libc6 2.7-18 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libglib2.0-0 2.16.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10 0.10.19-2 GStreamer libraries from the "base ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.19-3 Core GStreamer libraries and eleme gstreamer0.10-alsa recommends no packages. gstreamer0.10-alsa suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
