Hi Thibaut and Radek!

Thibaut, I finally built uptimed with your uptimed database corruption
detection patch - including fixed filesize comparison - after having lost
uptimed database two more times on my new laptop with SSD - machine
freezes suddenly rarely for whatever reason and it tends to pick a 10
minute save times of uptimed database for that quite reliably, should be a
good testcase:

So lets see how it this one goes. I will upload a built for i386
eventually as well.

I have a look at downtimed in the meanwhile and I think it uses a pretty
clever approach to storing the current uptime. It just updates the
timestamp of one file. Either that timestamp has been updated or not. Seems
pretty clever to me - no file content writing just to update the current
uptime. But until I or someone else takes the time to implement this into
uptimed I just test your patch to get this going at all.

If it does, what it should, then I´d be happy when it is included upstream
as long as no better solution is available. It will take a while to be
quite sure whether it works but I´ll report back.

Thanks,
