as alternative, but well in crontab it is far better.
for such usage, it's better to use the MAILTO environnement
I tried with a regular gmail address. No aliases, just gmail. yes.
and i guess it works ? no ?
if it works, i will close the bug unless you disagree.

Since msmtp is in debian stable, i can give a try again.
Since the debian lenny stable has been released, I expect now that it has a
newer version of your program.

msmtp can't do local delivery hence you should try with a valid email
address (like rob...@foo.bar).
I've tried the same crontab with a valid email address and it works
fine.
Did you try with a valid email address (i.e. which contains a fully
qualified domain name) ?

the nbsmtp, to replace, and crontab can send email.
simple test : * * * * * echo yes|mail robert
crontab test did not work
