Package: atftpd Version: 0.7.dfsg-7 Severity: normal If you set USE_INETD to no then atftpd refuses to start with no error message other than usage(), which appears correct. I had to dig into the source code to find out that you have to add --daemon onto the command line.
Two things wrong here: 1. The app just doesn't tell you what's wrong.. a generic usage() is useless in this case. The man page is no help either. 2. The /etc/init.d/atftpd should be adding --daemon automatically if USE_INETD is false.
