This problem i also reported seems fixed now in Debian testing. I noticed that when bash-completion was upgraded to 1:1.1-3 so the bug was in bash-completion and not bash... Looking bash-completion package the bug 544024 (cannot complete path if path component contains spaces) can be the cause (which was fixed in the commented version). So please you can proceed to close this one.
