Now that the Kerberos packages are working again with Samba/winbind, I upgraded
to version 3.4.5 of Winbind.
The 'many segfaults per second' problem didn't occur, so I guess the newer
version fixed the problem.

I see this in Karolin Seeger's 3.4.4 announcement today:
o Fix Winbind crashes when queried from nss (bug #6889).
o Fix Winbind crash when retrieving empty group members (bug #7014).

Hello all,
I should also add that I have lenny hosts (2.6.26-2-686) where I use winbind
from backports (3.4.3-1~bpo50+2).
I have two domains:
A -> one which is controlled by a windows 2008 r2 english-based server
B -> one which is controlled by a windows 2003 sp2 french-based server
On domain
For my set up, winbind is talking to 2x Windows Server 2008 domain controllers
and one Windows Server 2003 domain controller.
The Linux kernel version installed is linux-image-2.6.30-2-686 version
2.6.30-8, so I haven't upgraded to 2.6.30-8squeeze1 yet).
Like Dale, I am able to run 'wbinfo -u'
I should add that in order to fix my problem I found a system where I have
winbind-3.4.2 installed.
I copied the /usr/sbin/winbindd binary across to the server with winbind-3.4.3
installed and that stopped the crashes.
