attached is an improved patch for 528233 that fixes this bug. The
original fix changed the file permissions to read-only for every
attachment, this improved patch only does this for received
attachments.

If I write a mail, attach some file and, before sending it, I try to view
the attached files with an external viewer, mutt changes the file
permissions to 0400.
It took a while for me to understand why latex was unable to update a pdf
file I sent
