if you don't want to expose your installed packages to the world?
Also, it would be good if you could make a backup of the
/var/lib/apt/lists directory. Unlikely that we will need it

As i read some misunderstanding in the bug log:
* That apt-cache show prints multiple entries is not an
indication for two or more different sources.
In this case it is the installed and the candidate version which
is displayed. The show command per default prints out all
