Let's this will be feature request in place of bug.

This is why Debian will never have as much popularity on desktops as Windows.
Now you trying to solve symptoms in place of solve problem. The problem is: 
alsa can't reliably set up audio cards priority and have not good, simple, 
comfortable method to set up priorities manually. As a result Debian sometimes 
gets too many time to make sound in it just works. 
Symptom is: some user have trouble with sound in Debian.

You want help user to wrote several magic strings in /etc/asound.conf or 
~/asound.rc, isn't it? :-) There should not be any magic, such things must be 
simple both in configs and GUIs.
