I run evolution from the terminal and the only thing that happens is
that that message is printed and ends.

Can you run following commands and give the output:
ls /etc/pki/nssdb/pkcs11.txt
grep library /etc/pki/nssdb/pkcs11.t

Hmh, it doesn't look good, but the fact it's “only” a warning makes me
think it might not be the cause of the non starting experience.
