Could you please still reproduce this issue with newer versions
like 1.12.3-4 or 1.16.3-2 ?
here it is working fine with 1.19.90-1.

'File' - 'Open Location...' fails with:
Opening '$URI' failed:
Could not open '$URI' for reading: No such file or directory
where $URI is the supplied image URI.
I have installed all the suggested packages including gvfs-backends
Are there any errors printed to the console?
