poezio, in the next release (0.7) will use python 3 (only) and switch
from xmpppy to sleekxmpp (http://wiki.github.com/fritzy/SleekXMPP/)
So, you don't need to have an xmpppy = 0.5.0, but instead you need
sleekxmpp (which is not yet 1.0).

I currently need the package python-xmpp to be upgraded to 0.5.0. It
has already been suggsted to the concerned package maintainer (see
#592010).
Otherwise, the package is almost ready for upload.
