since apt/aptitude install recommends automatically by default,
recommends has become too strong. it was lowered to suggests on purpose,
closing this bug.
I'm not satisfied by this answer. Syslinux _needs_ mtools to work properly. I agree that a 'depends'
may be to strong since the package has useful application scenarios without mtools, but the
following is IMHO not acceptable:
# aptitude install syslinux
...
# syslinux --install /dev/sdb1
sh: mcopy: not found
syslinux: failed to create ldlinux.sys
# aptitude search mcopy
#
Possible (not really good) solutions would also be to either patch the error message to something
like 'sh: mcopy: not found - install mtools package' or at least to include a comment on that fact
in syslinux' manpage.
