Updated bios: Award Modular Bios v6.00 PG.

Not used by me for 'hardware raid'. The HPT370 is used by me, only for
the fast disk control bus.
Linux Debian MDADM Software raid will be used when I can get that far
into the 'squeeze-di-Beta1' install.

HPT370 BIOS Setting Utility screen button F1 toggles the view ARRAY
STATUS shows no array or devices. Good!

as I believe the 'Linux Software Raid Array' is the place to specify
/dev/md2 /boot as bootable in partition manager, which I have set.

Comments/Problems:
I came across three squeeze-di-beta1 issues, and two wish list items.
I will report them in seperate reports.
(This very minor Issue is 2 of 3.)

The icon 'Continue' screen button on most squeeze-di-beta1 install
screens, has an intermitant issue on my machine.
If you press the left usb mouse button, the Icon 'greys' out in response. Good.
Initially I waited for ten minutes at one point for action, until I
later noticed that the install had frozen.
I went to use the mouse, and the install burst into life.
I had waggled the mouse to move the cursor outside the 'Continue'
button icon area.
This scenario has happened for about 4 installs out of about 10 on
this same machine.
When the symptom does occur, the install continues as if there was no
problem, other than the fact I have to press AND waggle the mouse each
time toprogress the install.
When the symptom does occur, it is persistant for the complete install.
The symptom is intermitant because, it does not happen on every install.
I was hoping to reproduce the symptom to start looking at logs for this report.
The last two installs have been 'waggle free'. What would you like, to
try and trace the origins ?

For years I have said software does not rust or snap.
Just maybe the icon is rusty and needs some oil. that would be a good
description of the visual and tactile effect.

If the CD-ROM fails... etc.
Using a newer/younger machine that created my two DVD set,
I seem to get a long loop, 100% cpu utilisation status, for at least
38 minutes before I cancel the following job. Using :-
Ubuntu Release 8.04 (hardy):~$ sudo dd if=/dev/cdrom0 | > head -c

sudo: unable to resolve host ...
Note: The cutting and checksum verification are not processed on the
older target machine, so it does not prove much.
I do check the integrity of the Binary-1 disk on the older target
machine successfully, using the di-mm (Main Menu).
The cut was with Brasero on Ubuntu, the iso data verified ok, after being cut.
The modulus MD5SUM was correct for:
debian-squeeze-di-beta1-i386-DVD-1.iso 59c4352b6ed6627fadb60e689b5bb7f7 .
Yes, the DVD was cut and verified / checksummed on a different machine
and drive; Pioneer DVR-110 with updated firmware.
