Package: tar
Version: 1.25-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm doing incremental backup with tar:
$ tar -g test.snar -cf test.tar --one-file-system / /boot

This seems to work, but afterwards a compare fails:
$ tar -g /dev/null -C / -df test.tar
tar: bin/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: boot/grub/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: boot/initrd.in/initramfs-root/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: boot/initrd.in/initramfs-root/dev/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: boot/initrd.in/initramfs-root/etc/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: Skipping to next header
tar: boot/initrd.in/initramfs-root/etc/lvm/: Cannot savedir: Not a directory
tar: A lone zero block at 25
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors
$

Note: /boot is on a different filesystem than /, but since /bin
also causes an error, this should not be the problem.
Version 1.20-1+lenny1 of tar had worked fine.
