Package: libvte9 Version: 1:0.27.5-1 Severity: serious I decided to try libvte9 in experimental to see if it solves a bug I have (#616392). Unfortunately, without also upgrading libvte-common, I get a complaint from vte that it can't find /etc/termcap and gnome-terminal ceases to function in any useful way. You need a tighter dependency on libvte-common so that the proper version is installed.
