Package: evince-gtk Version: 2.30.3-3 Severity: normal
I tried to search for a phrase in a PDF document, and discovered that evince-gtk did not find the phrase where it was split over two lines. The actual document was: http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2009L04720/d81b310e-f6da-4aa8-adec-4d29e92e3ace referenced from: http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2009L04720/Download The search phrase "Integrated Public Number Database" is split across a line around page 20 of the document, and not found in that location by evince-gtk. mupdf found the phrase that was split over two lines. It appears that the line break was not in the original PDF, but only in evince-gtk's rendering of it. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38.2 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages evince-gtk depends on: ii evince-common 2.30.3-3 Document (PostScript, PDF) viewer ii gnome-icon-theme 2.30.3-2 GNOME Desktop icon theme ii libatk1.0-0 1.32.0-3 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.11.2-11 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libevince2 2.30.3-3 Document (PostScript, PDF) renderi ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.4-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.3-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 2:1.0.7-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.3-6 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libsm6 2:1.2.0-1 X11 Session Management library ii libx11-6 2:1.4.3-1 X11 client-side library ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-2 GNOME XML library ii shared-mime-info 0.90-1 FreeDesktop.org shared MIME databa ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime Versions of packages evince-gtk recommends: ii dbus-x11 1.4.6-1 simple interprocess messaging syst Versions of packages evince-gtk suggests: ii gvfs 1.6.4-3 userspace virtual filesystem - ser pn nautilus <none> (no description available) ii poppler-data 0.4.4-1 Encoding data for the poppler PDF pn unrar <none> (no description available) -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
