I experienced this bug with the latest Debian CD installer (downloaded
yesterday).
I'm surprised the fix commit has not been retroported to stable.
I did a fresh install and tested the redundancy, that's how I trigged
this bug. However, it took me some time to figure it out and to find
this workaround. This bug is really tricky because it can be discovered
when a disk has a problem. For production servers, we're talking about a
serious downtime here.
If for some reasons, you don't want to apply the bug fix, at least, the
workaround should be part of stable.
In my opinion, the severity is not high enough.
