Christophe, could you please try to reproduce the erratic battery reading once with a gkrellm started manually with "gkrellm -d 0x8000 -l gkbatt.txt" and send me the resulting file? The logfile should contain quite some information about files accessed while reading battery levels. I could not spot anything obvious in the code yet but I guess GKrellM is either caching state (that one I could probably fix) or one of the sysfs files involved contains bogus data (that would be a kernel bug then).
