Package: lib32asound2-plugins Version: 1.0.23-2 Severity: important Tags: upstream
Hello, I'm not sure if this problem exists in libasound2-plugins aswell, since it only happened with a binary using lib32asound2-plugins. This problem occours when PulseAudio is used with alsa-plugin, and causes the audio to be nearly unuseable: the sound plays for roughly half a second, then stops, then goes again, and the cpu usage goes up to about 80%. Also, in the list of applications using pulseaudio in gnome-volume-control.pulse, you can see the application causing the issue (always using alsa-plugin) flickering, as if the sink was being repeatedly opened and then closed. I've done some researches, and I've found out this bug used to happen in Ubuntu aswell, and it has been fixed some time ago. Here's the bug track: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-plugins/+bug/503174 This bug has already been reported before (and received no responses at all): http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=581624 but I guess it should apprear as related to lib32asound-plugins rather than to PulseAudio... I confirm that this bug still happens with the current alsa-base, lib32asound- plugins, libasound-plugins and pulseaudio in sid; since the previews bug reports contain a lot of informations about the issue, so I guess explaining it more in detail would be kind of redundant... -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=it_IT.utf8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages lib32asound2-plugins depends on: ii ia32-libs 20110609 ia32 shared libraries for use on a ii lib32asound2 1.0.24.1-1 shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libc6-i386 2.13-10 Embedded GNU C Library: 32-bit sha lib32asound2-plugins recommends no packages. lib32asound2-plugins suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
