Package: python-egenix-mxdatetime Version: 3.2.0-1 Severity: wishlist I notice that mxDateTime's C API has a version (currently "API2"). When this changes, python extensions importing it (with mxDateTime_ImportModuleAndAPI) will fail (without much explanation).
I noticed this with psycopg2 in Ubuntu, where we haven't rebuild psycopg2 since the API2 transition, and it currently fails to import: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/psycopg2/+bug/811115/comments/8 A similar situation in python-ply has been dealt with, by using a virtual package and a dh_ helper.
