If you go into Xine's settings and pick Alsa as the output device, it works.
If you delete /usr/lib/xine/plugins/1.30/xineplug_ao_out_sndio.so then it appears to fix the problem for all users, and also in Kaffeine. Why is the sndio plugin being compiled? That's for OpenBSD.
