Package: udftools
Version: 1.0.0b3-14.1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I am experiencing an issue while upgrading udftools:

   * What led up to the situation?

Upgrading udftools while the external dvdram capable burner is not
connected via USB fails.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

LANG=C apt-get upgrade

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Setting up udftools (1.0.0b3-14.1) ...
Starting udftools packet writing:
/dev/pktcdvd/dvdram=/dev/sr1 open cd-rom: No such file or directory
invoke-rc.d: initscript udftools, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing udftools (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
configured to not write apport reports
                                      Errors were encountered while processing:
 udftools
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
shambhala:~#100> echo $?
100

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Upgrading udftools should work nonetheless. An external DVD burner can
be absent. Thus the upgrade should not require the burner to be
connected.

   * Possible workarounds:

I added exit 0 in the second line of /etc/init.d/udftools. Maybe
insserv -r udftools would have been effective.

Thanks,
Martin Steigerwald
