Hi, I have just removed ensembl from the archive: in its current form it is not distributable by Debian and there has been no progress or even a timeframe. It also has several other open RC bugs, some of which have been open for quite some time.
Once the current problems are fixed, ensembl can of course come back to the archive just like other removed packages. I'll also not close the currently open bugs to make it easier to keep track of them for the eventual reintroduction.
