Hi,
Here are some points:
1. ucf does not do the display of the string directly, whiptail does
2. ucf just send s a string to debconf to display;
3. ucf did not select the front end to do the display, debconf selected
the front end

Today I tried to update nfs-kernel-server, and the update process
prompted me about overwriting a config file. But the question as
shown on the screen was completely unreadable. Here is how it
