Package: gnome-panel Version: 3.2.1-2+b1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I'd like to configure gnome-panel to run a single panel on the right side of my display. When I setup such a configuration in dconf, gnome-panel exits immediately with this error: (gnome-panel:13676): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /tmp/buildd/glib2.0-2.30.2/./gobject/gsignal.c:2295: signal `size_request' is invalid for instance `0x1b38600' Floating point exception and $? set to 136. Ubuntu seems to have a bug report filed for this issue at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libwnck3/+bug/847464 Based on information in that bug report, I rebuilt the gnome-panel packages with the Debian patch "03_tasklist_orientation.patch" removed. The problem went away. That patch seems to be in response to Debian bug #524117, which is from 2009. I attempted to reproduce the problem described in that bug with my recompiled gnome-panel, and could not. I believe this patch may no longer be needed, and would like you to consider removing it; it seems to be causing problems rather than solving them at this point. In case you believe it relevant, I am running the xmonad window manager. If needed, I can attempt to reproduce under a more normal GNOME session. I'm happy to test any configurations or patches you would like me to.
