If you would enable multiarch support, then we could use
export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/\$LIB/faketime/libfaketime.so.1
in a multilib environment.

Would it be possible to get 32bit support on amd64?
Currently we get for 32bit binaries
ERROR: ld.so: object '/usr/lib/faketime/libfaketime.so.1' from LD_PRELOAD
cannot be preloaded: ignored.
