The problem is that, by default, it is gnuplot-nox which is installed
(since it is the first in the dependency list of gnuplot). And
gnuplot-nox does not work with Octave.

So I am in favor of recommending "gnuplot-x11 | gnuplot-qt", and
actually such a change is already committed to the VCS.

Also note that since it is a Recommends and not a Depends, we are not
preventing the user from using gnuplot-nox if he really wants. We are
just giving sane defaults.
