I can't reproduce the bug with Denis' (#15) scenario on a freshly
installed testing.

I can reproduce this bug on my system as follows:
1. open a new gnome-terminal window
2. open a new tab
3. detach the latter tab
4. open a pager (e.g. less) or an editor (e.g. vim) in this tab
