Then it is possible to copy an libreoffice entry from menu to desktop.
Also there is no error message in the preferences of the new icon at the
desktop.

simple problem :)
drag and drop from menu (gnome-classic at the very least), fails to make chmod
+x .desktop files
, All the other menu items when dragged to the desktop have the +x bit set on
them...
