This is optional under The Unicode Standard, so I had it listed in a
TODO/What's Next list instead of listed as a bug. The Unicode Standard
5.0, which was the authority for Unifont 5.1, allows simply displaying
nothing (The Unicode Standard 5.0, p. 155). Using the space character
as a

* The Default Character will change from space (U+0020) to the Unicode
Replacement Character (U+FFFD).
