Hi,
Pidgin still uses GStreamer 0.10 and removing its support from libnice
would break the voice call functionality so IMHO it's not just yet the
right time to cut it off.
However, I agree with the update to 0.1.4 as it contains a fix for pidgin-sipe
voice calls.

libnice has new upstream version released, 0.1.4, also it might be good to
drop gst0.10 plugin. The following patch does both things in one, please
consider the patch for review. If you need to split the bug report in
