Package: qemu-user, qemu-user-static Version: 1.1.2+dfsg-6a Severity: important Tags: upstream patch wheezy
qemu-user emulation is prone to segfaults due to memory corruption when running some multi-threaded applications. This is an old bug which finally has been fixed upstream and which affects Debian package in wheezy as well (the fix is included in 1.5 upstream version and backported in upstream-supported previous-release stable version too, and was used in other distributions as well). It'd be nice to include the fix for wheezy as well. It is a bit long(ish), it definitely affects qemu-system too (not the bug but the fix, since it changes slightly the way how "foreign" code is generated and executed by qemu, but it's been tested extensively to ensure it does not introduce regressions. This is the original patch submission: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.qemu/196629 And this is the backport of that series to 1.1 (version used in wheezy): http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.qemu/196629/focus=210766 Thanks, /mjt -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
