I got hit with this on my Pegasos2 when upgrading to wheezy because I run nvi and did not have vim-common installed. There is also hexdump or hd command from bsdmainutils. Now have 3.2.0-4-powerpc up running. (Bug 627585 led to 630845 also with linux-image-3.0.0 may be related.)
