I haven't said "it doesn't work". I said that some features require
particular bios implementation and/or version. This does not mean
that the whole thing is broken.

AFAICS, another BIOS alternative is provided by grub-firmware-qemu.
I've also reported https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=978900
which is somehow related a bit.

seabios?
