As Thijs wrote in sept 2013: "We use the package on Wheezy". We still do that,
as of now, on wheezy / oldstable. As Thijs, I don't believe investing time in
supplying a formal backport is wise.

Keep in mind that even if backport is created there will be no upgrade path
from 1.9 to 2.5 - that was my biggest issue with Moodle in wheezy.
