It's currently not possible to reinstall (or, when a new release comes along, upgrade to a newer version) because postinst is doing, as Eric pointed out, (essentially) an a2enmod mpm_itk--and this call fails if mpm_itk is already enabled. The problem belongs to apache2, however:

I encountered this bug as well. The postinstall script ends up calling: a2enmod -m -q mpm_itk which prints: WARNING: MPM_ITK is a third party module that is not part of the official Apache HTTPD. It has seen less testing than the official MPM modules. ERROR: Module mpm_event is enabled -
