The problem happens whether or not the file system is mounted. Automount mounts it as /media/cdrom. This is the only non-commented line in /etc/auto.misc: cd -fstype=iso9660,ro,nosuid,nodev :/dev/cdrom Finally, I still view this as a minor issue since the DVDs play fine if I enter their location as dvd://, even though the Insert Disc entry is greyed out in the menu. thanks, Jack Shaio ________________________________ From: Yves-Alexis Perez <cor...@debian.org> To: JS <jsh...@yahoo.com> Cc: "736...@bugs.debian.org" <736...@bugs.debian.org>; Debian Bug Tracking System <sub...@bugs.debian.org> Sent: Monday, January 27, 2014 1:12 AM Subject: Re: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#736780: parole: add media option to play DVD (instead of entering dvd:// in location) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 On Sun, Jan 26, 2014 at 03:54:17PM -0800, JS wrote: > > I guess that's what the “Play disc” menu entry is for. > > With parole-0.5.4, these are ** all ** the options I see under the Media > submenu: > > Insert Disc [greyed out, even though the DVD is already inserted] > > Where is the "Play disc" menu?
