I haven't taken a look at OpenJDK 1.8 at all yet to be honest, though it's
certainly something I'm interested in getting to. I believe there are a few
others in the community who have been running with it during the last 1.8
release candidates, and I haven't heard any real complaints from them. I'd
expect as 1.8 becomes more popular a they may start hitting any issues
there are out there anyway, which will likely drive through a few fixes in
the coming months. That said, it's not really on my roadmap at present, so
unless there's a bit of demand from the community we're unlikely to be
spending too much time on it.

In terms of official support from NYSE for the Enterprise Edition of
OpenMAMA, they don't at present support any version of the OpenJDK at all
(due to some legacy issues), and I don't believe that's likely to change
any time soon.
