Those patches > are the same ones used by Ubuntu. This part is pretty huge (even if most changes seem trivial) and I'm certainly not gonna maintain it myself. Is there a chance of this getting upstreamed? Also note that there's no need to patch configure, config.guess and all Makefile.in files, since autoreconf regenrates them (from configure.ac and the various Makefile*.am files). Removing those changes may make the patch more manageable. Cheers
