This is mostly a mee too mail.

Since the latest ifupdown (0.7.50) in jessie the boot is stuck at:

[***] A start job is running for LSB: Raise network interfaces. (1min
10s / no limit)

However, unlike in the original report, mine continues after about
minute and a half.

Using the debug shell I can see the waiting occurs at:
ifup eth0
/bin/sh -c dhclient -v -pf /run/dhclient.eth0.pid -lf
/var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.eth0.leases eth0
dhclient -v -pf /run/dhclient.eth0.pid -lf
/var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.eth0.leases eth0

Content of /etc/network/interfaces as created by installer 2 months ago:
    auto lo
    iface lo inet loopback

    allow-hotplug eth0
    iface eth0 inet dhcp

This machine is laptop and hardly ever has cable connected to eth0.
All networking is done via eth1 - wireless managed by NetworkManager.

Cheers,
Frank
