A daily cron job does sound like a good idea.
Additionally, Flash archive seems to be available over HTTPS [1], so the
intermediary access to p-d-o [2] isn't really necessary.

the current package poses a severe security problem.
My wish would be that the package checks via a cron job if the upstream
flashplayer has been updated. If so download the new version.
Could you, please, add a comment in the bug report why you set this
problem to "won't fix".
