The Version field of the lincity.desktop file contains a wrong value. It should contain the version of the Desktop Entry Specification used in the .desktop file (see [1]), not the version of the program. It's common to use the value 1.0 (see [2] for an example of .desktop files for games) but there is a more recent 1.1 version from 2014, so either of two, 1.0 or 1.1, is perfectly valid. May I also suggest two additional changes in the lincity.desktop file? First, the GenericName key is defined in the specification as 'Generic name of the application, for example "Web Browser".' I suggest to use the value "City Simulation Game" instead Lincity there. It may also be worth to add the TryExec key pointing to the executable (if the executable is not found, the menu entry is hidden). I am sending the proposed changes to lincity.desktop in patch format for your consideration.
