Hi, My issue with a Arduino Uno was my wrong fuse/bootloader setting. (I must have loaded bad bootloader when I was playing with it.)
My issue with a CH340 based new cheapo NANO was a defective hardware. (I have 2 other cheapo NANOs which are working fine. So much for $1 a piece board, ....) So arduino program is working fine for non-Leonardo system. FYI: You may wish to test several baudrate (-b option) values when resetting.
