Package: sensible-utils Version: 0.0.9 Severity: wishlist It would be handy if sensible-editor and sensible-pager appeared as defined applications so that they might be used from "Open With" dialogues in file and web browsers for those times when you would prefer a terminal-based editor or pager be opened.
For GNOME, files similar to the following might do the trick, however an experienced GNOME administrator might be consulted to ascertain how to handle the case where sensible-editor might have been set to a program that has an X11 mode as well as a terminal mode. /usr/share/applications/sensibleeditor.desktop: [Desktop Entry] Name=Sensible Default Editor Exec=/usr/bin/sensible-editor %U StartupNotify=true Terminal=true Type=Application Icon=utilities-terminal /usr/share/applications/sensiblepager.desktop: [Desktop Entry] Name=Sensible Default Pager Exec=/usr/bin/sensible-pager StartupNotify=true Terminal=true Type=Application Icon=utilities-terminal -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
