Package: vboot-kernel-utils Version: 0~20121212-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I noticed I can't wrap a bzImage using the vboot-kernel-utils package that is part of Debian. If I copy in the binary from the Chrome OS filesystem instead, the image is bootable. The symptom is that the kernel won't load, or at least won't launch. With a kernel I wrap with the CrOS vbutil_kernel I get a launching kernel, console output, etc (same kernel binary, same command line). This is on the new 2015 Pixel. The Chrome OS version is R41 (41.0.2272.102). vbutil_kernel --verify shows no difference between kernels packaged by the two versions, I used the same bootstub.efi with both invocations as well. I'm happy to collect more data if needed, just let me know. For now, I'm using the CrOS version to get my stuff done, so it's not blocking me.
