I'm using the .deb from Ubuntu but that's cheating.

Hello,
What's the status of this?
On my laptop pidgin is now the last package preventing the removal of
python2
control: tag -1 +fixed-upstream
Hi,
Support for Python3 has been merged upstream:
https://bitbucket.org/pidgin/main/commits/38a40ddbb9b76ac8918c5743eebee51e811b43ce#chg-libpurple/purple-remote
When comparing the dates it should be in release 2.12, but isn't.
There's something I don't grasp here
The Python scripts in that package aren't currently compatible with
Python3.
Package: libpurple-bin
Version: 2.10.11-1
Please build libpurple-bin using Python3. According to the upstream changelog,
that should be possible.
