I switched from root to 'nagios' with 'su -s /bin/bash nagios', then ran
'/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_dhcp -v -s 172.16.9.3 -r 172.16.9.254 -i
eth1 -m aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff'
