The current upstream release is 1.5.2.It would be good to have 1.5.2. in Debian, as SDCC is about to release 4.2.0, and for the pic14 and pic16 backends, SDCC only supports the devices supported by the gputils present during the build of SDCC. So there is a benefit in getting a newer gputils into Debian before the new SDCC.
